The small town of Smith River is known as the "Lily Growing Capital of the World" and the "Gateway to Redwood National Forest".  Smith River is in Del Norte County north of the Crescent City metro area. The community was named after Jedediah Smith, trapper.  It is in the Pacific Standard time zone.

Smith River sits off of scenic Highway 101 between Crescent City, California and Brookings, Oregon on America's "Wild Rivers Coast".
